This is where we're at now. I think I could really live with our kitchen in gray/taupe tones. It looks refined and classic and restful, but a decor you could change substantially with textiles.
The second photo is very similar to our kitchen colour (you can see it in the background in some photos). I've been living with it for over two years and never tire of the colour. If I could go back though, I would have hand painted it for a slightly more rustic finish. We had it coated in poly which looks satiny smooth, but not the best wearing. Far easier to blend scratches and bumps if it was hand painted. Look forward to seeing what you do.
Really like this. I always go back and forth between liking an all white kitchen and a grey/white kitchen. I have an all white kitchen now, but now you have me leaning the other way again...
we have just painted our kitchen a very similar colour - now i just need to find a solution for the tiled splashback which i don't want to replace, but would be keen to recolour :)
I wasn't having any luck finding a tile for our backsplash, then saw a kitchen in an interiors book where they'd continued the bench top up the wall as a backsplash. It's a really clean, simple look and quite striking.
I'd love to hear how you get on with the tiles. It might give me hope for our main bathroom which is missing out on attention during the renovation. It's a lovely 90's champagne gold and white...
