Sewing is ve-ry slow at the moment. And lately most days I am only making bodysuits and baby pants. (And don't forget Bebe Alive...she has a new knot hat now). I've got too many ideas and nowhere near the time to bring them to life, but that has got to be better than the other way round, right?
I finally started on Winter coats - the one above is pure wool (thick, felted) with a Japanese cotton lining. This was the last of the Japanese cotton lining I made those smock shirts and Plus Fours from last year. So it looks like this will be the only one (size 4T, and should fit 3T through to 5T). I'll put it in the shop when I'm done. Made to order kinda scares me right now.
On a really positive note, Audrey's sleep has much improved the last couple of nights. I have been plying her with Weleda Teething Powder several times before retiring and it seems to have helped. No getting up every 45 minutes! Two weeks of that absolutely wrecked me, so I see any improvement on that cause for hoop-ra. I just hope I haven't jinxed it by telling you.
My baby girl is right around Audrey's age..coming up on 24 weeks and she has had the same sleep routine! Just recently she's been waking every 45 minutes for the first few hours of night sleep...I was using Hylands Teething tablets and stopped and so I think I will start those again. She has always been a super sleeper until she hit 4 1/2 months and she is sort of slowly gettin worse! argh
ReplyDeleteoh dear it can be so tiring can't it. I too have so many ideas and nowhere near enough time to get them done. And it seems that whenever I do get time to sit down at my sewing machine one or both of the little poeple want to immediately get up on my lap. So hard to sew with a wee head bobbng around in front of you.
ReplyDeleteDEY - I got a book called Sleep Sense out of the library thinking I was the only one with a baby who had sleeping troubles - it turns out all ten books were out, with many on hold! I just thought 'thank god, I'm not the only one!'.
ReplyDeleteAnd Hanna - I gave Lucy my old machine to 'sew' with - it's been completely defaced in crayon but she still gets a kick out of playing with it. She asks for more bobbins (she's getting to know sewing speak), and then winds my thread down the hall and all through the house. But at least I get to sew! Also, the office is in the sewing room while Audrey camps out there - You Tube has a great bounty of old cartoons (Donald Duck, Goofy, etc) that Lucy loves watching. Not a great habit to get into, but surely it can't hurt every other day for a short while.
Weleda Teething Powder is absolutely the bees knees. You haven't jinxed nuthin', um, because we already knew, ok?
