Duck for Cover!

Since it's really un-PC to keep your child chained to a sewing machine, Lucy and I ventured out today to one of Auckland's wonderful parks. We pinched bread from the kitchen, rugged up and set off to The Domain in search of the local birdlife.

We also visited the Domain's Winter Garden and Hothouse, two of my favourite places. It's as hot as Miami in there which was a nice respite from the cool park air.

  1. the pea coats you made for Lucy (and for sale) are soooo sweet! If i have a daughter n live in a temperate climate, i will definitely dress her up in your pea coats!I have a dream that hopefully one day i will be able to sew things like this! Lovely lovely blog. :)

  2. wow what an amazing place! Sure makes our duck feeding venue pale into comparison! We do have a goose there too though that provides Small Child with much amusement as it spends most of its time standing on one leg! (I checked and it does have two!) BTW I love the name Audrey but I would as Ms Hepburn is my heroine!

  4. Alice, the Winter Garden is ama-zing right now. The colours are vibrant, so springlike - lots of pinks and yellows and thick floral scent hangs in the air. Be sure to go soonl I don't think Dubai will have anything like it! Congrats by the way, what a neat adventure.

  5. That girl, great to see you are keeping an eye out for the birds welfare! And any place that is lucky enough to attract birdlife is worthy.

And Pea, how appropriate the 'pea'coats caught your eye ;)

  6. Ahhh, good to see Lucy's up to her old tricks. She looks adorable in her peacoat. What a cutie. (You know you're killing me with the birds + cute child combo?!)

The Winter Garden looks so beautiful. I'll have to put it on my agenda for when I visit Auckland one day. xx
