Lucy's cot actually converts to a bed, so a couple of days ago I got tinkering (the sight of the cot on its side was quite upsetting to Lucy) simply removing the front sliding part to reveal, voila, her new bed. At least until her sister comes along....which will be around February next year. Yes, I'm pregnant and the scan yesterday confirmed we are having another Lucy. I could have sworn it was to be a boy, so was rather surprised. Obviously my motherly intuition needs refining! And who said horizontal stripes made you look bigger... hmm.
What lovely news for your family! Congratulations and best wishes for your pregnancy. Life moves in such mysterious ways...so sad to lose Lucy's grandfather and yet so beautiful to bring another little life into the world, mixed emotions indeed.

What a coincidence, I'm also wearing horizontal stripes today...and expecting number two...in February...Congratulations to us! I'm excited for Lucy, too, younger siblings are enormously fun for playing...and fetching things when you're feeling lazy :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed a coincidence! There's a few of them happening at the moment. Congratulations to you three also! Lucy loves to help so I like to oblige by asking her to fetch the remote, or to pick up such-and-such for me...
ReplyDeleteI'm due on the 12th - you?
How wonderful for you and Lucy! Congratulations, look forward in seeing the bump get bigger...xx
ReplyDeleteYay! A second child brings so much more to the table! More love, patience, tolerance, fun, understanding and precious moments for everyone involved. Enjoy this second pregnancy, I did mine and I sure do miss it.
ReplyDeleteaarrgghh! How exciting.. congratulations! Am so pleased to hear your news! Love the jaunty angle at which Lucy keeps her dummy placed in her mouth by the way!
ReplyDeleteThankyou everyone, you are all too kind!
ReplyDeleteYes 'that girl', I use the word jaunty alot as she wears her hats that way too. With the dummy, it's kind of like 'I don't really need it which is why it hangs there so casually'. Right. I know the truth, Lucy.
coming out of lurkdom ( I found you via heartfelt) to say congrats and how lovely to have another girl for your beautiful sewing
ReplyDeleteOh my! What wonderful news!!! Congratulations... two is double the fun! And two girls... I love it!!! I can't wait to e-meet Lucy#2!
ReplyDeleteLucy will be a most wonderful big sister!
It is funny cause we are talking when to have #3 and trying to think of names now so we don't have the same problem as before, which is naming them after they are born!
What will the age difference between lucy and the little babe be?
xoxo

I was so excited I forgot to comment on the bed!
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely and lucy looks like such a big girl now!!!
Congratulations Catherine, that is so wonderful. We are very happy for you. We wish you and your family much happiness! Oh, and the dummy, Bella is three, and still sleeps with hers....
ReplyDeleteAh congratulations! Does this mean you'll start making some baby clothes, too?
ReplyDeleteHello Top Bird, and thanks! I made Lucy baby clothes when she was little so I may have to resurrect some of those designs. I have a few months up my sleeve to come up with a wardrobe for Lucy's new sister. Sounds odd saying that!
